"Appa, I'm going for an audio listening session," Soundarya told her dad, Superstar Rajinikanth, on Thursday morning. She was referring to an event organized by Sony Music in Chennai to preview the songs exclusively to some select members of the press. Rajini was quite interested in the concept, which showcased four songs from the film that has music by Oscar winner AR Rahman. A preview of the songs screened:

Mannapenin Sathiyam, sung by Latha Rajinikanth, revolves around a wedding situation in the film. The song is about the promise of a husband to his wife and vice versa. Says Soundarya, "Every time I listen to this particular song, I'm in tears. It's emotional because it is my amma (Latha) singing for my appa (Rajinikanth)."

Medhuvaagathan by SPB and Sadhana Sargam is a melody duet. It has a lot of commercial element and is said to be the 'commercial song' in the period drama.
